Morning all,

Got round to tinting my rear lights yesterday (wont post pics as they look like any of the other black coupe's with tintied lights)

Just wondering I know you can buy high power headlight bulbs (wihtout having to go LED) I just wondered if the same was available for brake light bulbs??

Just trying to avoid the need for messing with the cruise control after going to LED.

Cheers,

Dupe, Yadang, Angelus - What bulbs you got in yours as your lights are much darker than mine??

Odd, might just be beacause its sunny here at the mo and cant see the light as well.....

Mine arn't as dark thou, (more like Hutchy's) so maybe the light is better when its darker as there is more contrast.... Hmmm.... Just thinkning out loud.

I used LED's, easily 2-3 times brighter than a standard bulb. You could hardly see any light before changing them over.
If you get someone to press your brake for you and you have a look, if its too dim in your opinion then definitely get the led's in. I had a comparison photo with led vs ordinary to show the difference in brightness, ill see if i can dig it up for you.

Good post as i was thinking he same thing after doing mine early today. I will get some pics up soon as i don't have any of the motor :( but i did see some extremely bright bulbs on hids4u.co.uk

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/led-stop-tail-bulbs-c-63.html

they do seem to be the brightest in the business and i guess i will still need to hook up a resistor kit but like sie I dont want to pay out the extra cash if they dont make any difference. Can't try untill I buy i guess tho

Those aren't very good/bright bulbs, 10 led's arent nearly enough. These are what i have, ive already linked sie to these http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/u38030r-ultr ... -1094.html

Hutchy mate, I seem to think it could be better to go darker as there is more contrast and the lights appear brighter. Yours look darker than mine.

Does that make sense?

Mine are like a dark red I would say. However the clear is 'orange peel' at present haven't had chance to t-cut it smooth yet so that may help.....

Hmmm... need to rope someone in to hit the brakes etc whilst I stand outside and see properly.

If you are thinking of going LED, you should look at 36 LED minimum, preferably 45 LED.

Lets say I try to make mine darker to see if that works better, how does one go about removing it if need be? (Savage Tinting spray)

Obviously the number of LEDs will have an effect on the brightness bus is it no to do with the wattage also as wouldn't a higher watt LED bulb say 5w be better than a .6w one?
