Uh oh! (Hand brake)

Well i just pulled up at home put the handbrake on and *Clunk* nothing at all... now i have to take the handbrake all the way to the top just to get it to work, any ideas? expensive?

ah ffs, car is costing me a fortune 6months in now and usually gotta spend £200+ every 2months on it on repairs

Not too bad if you're willing to tackle it yourself. Cables cost ~£30 each

I guess i don't mind doing it myself, The missus dad is handy with cars also, how many cables will i need ? is it set for around £30 ?

Yer just seen need a left and a right cable which is off fleabay is £50 then labour if i gotta go a garage. Humph depressing times.

if its a gen3 u will need two. sine i have had mine both cables have snapped!! as i did when it went the second time! still got the cable and fitted for 50 so not too bad!

I must have been lucky....one of the cables snapped on my gen 3 three years ago.
Took it to a local car repair workshop, who charged me £25 for the cable + £25 labour!

Well got the cables for £60 and £60 to fit so £120, just one snapped but other was rusted badly :s so decided to do the two. :shock:

ur better off then waiting for the other one to snap. Dont think the handbrake on the coupe is great. since mine snapped twice i have no faith in my one
