Hiya,

Anyone have any suggestions on an in car cam for insurance/evidence purposes.

There are a lot of cheap ones that the resolution is too low to recognize number plates etc and a lot of really pricey ones.
Looking for something in the middle ideally.

Also if anyone has gone down this road and learnt some lessons then please do share (I have concerns over where to mount the camera and I am looking at hooking it up permanently). :D

thx,

tom,

This guy on YouTube does some really nice in-depth reviews of cheap, mid-range and some top-end car cams.

This one seems to be the best all-rounded one I've seen so far:

Also the website http://www.dashcamtalk.com has a lot of info on all sorts of car cams from the users themselves - very useful for finding out whether the cams have any faults such as overheating or where to buy to avoid cheap copies.

Just read it, OUCH! First the keying and now this, poor guy.

I was more looking at the threat of people hitting my car not idiots crashing it when I leave it with them, although im now worried about that too!
