if i said that i wanted to improve the roar, the sound of my car, and wasnt really intrested in power and had a low budget what would be recommend, i really do like a nice roaring sounding car any suggestions ?
That resonator box isn't much smaller than the airbox, can't remember seeing a hole that big when i had a gen3.smokebelch said:nothing amazing or talaented about me mate, just followed a DIY on another forum (newtib i think) there was no mention of how you've done yours, all I did was remove battery, loosen/ move the fuse box out of the way, if memory serves it was then either 2 or 3 bolts a bit of jiggling and out she came
You'll always be amazing in my eyessmokebelch said:nothing amazing or talaented about me mate, just followed a DIY on another forum (newtib i think) there was no mention of how you've done yours, all I did was remove battery, loosen/ move the fuse box out of the way, if memory serves it was then either 2 or 3 bolts a bit of jiggling and out she came
The hole in the top connects to a short piece of pipe that right-angles and leads to the airbox. You can ghetto the snorkus mod and just remove that piece (as smokebelch said you have to remove the battery and loosen the fusebox to get it out) to bypass the resonator, but as mentioned it then just takes air from next to the battery again.ryan11711 said:What does that top hole on the resonator box connect to?
And what is the sound difference like?
I will attempt this when the snow clears![]()
I was simply asking if there was a hole big enough to pull that box through. From my memory, there wasn't.smokebelch said:ok then, you got me.....didnt do it they way I said (didn't do it that way on 2 gen 3's), just thought I'd waste a little of my time and just type a load of b*ll*x
I must have explained wrong; my apologies. Taking that short pipe off like you did has pretty much the same effect of bypassing the resonator. Like I said, I did that at first to begin with. Leaving it like that is fine if you're happy with it and don't want to spend much time. The sound won't be dampened and you'll get a nice growl.smokebelch said:ok then, you got me.....didnt do it they way I said (didn't do it that way on 2 gen 3's), just thought I'd waste a little of my time and just type a load of b*ll*x
Turns out I was the confused one, haha, sorrysmokebelch said:lol, i'm not confused, I've taken the entire intake out.....theres nothing there anymore (on either of the gen 3's I did it to) no resonator, no pipework, no air filter box, no nothing
It's needed for sound regulations.Chunkscoupe said:Now I'm confused .. Why have Hyundai put this stuff in to just rip it all out? Is it not needed?
